Feeling stressed? Chill out!

Individuals can take simple, self-help steps to improved their own mental wellbeing. These include:

Get sharing

Grab time with friends and family. Share the problems, the feelings and maybe a laugh or two. It costs nothing and can do a lot. And that's priceless.

Get more aware

When it's all going around in your head, stop and focus on the moment - your own breathing, the birds outside, your children playing. It'll help you work out what really matters.

Get active

Take a walk in the park or down the street. Jog, cycle, dance, play footie, whatever you like. Exercise is good for your body and your mind. Just getting out might make you smile. See GO Active.

Get into something new

Join a free course, group or club. Pick up a paint brush; get creative. It could make you feel more confident and better about yourself. It could also be a real laugh. See local clubs and societies.

Get involved

Why not try giving someone else a hand? You could both end up laughing. Your local community centre is friendly and free and can tell you how to get involved.

Make some changes now

Make some small changes now and you can start to reduce feelings of stress, anxiety and mild depression. Turn that frown upside down!
