Huntington's Disease
About Huntington's Disease
Huntington's disease (HD) is a hereditary neurological disease in which damage to the nerve
cells in the brain causes the deterioration and gradual loss of brain function affecting
movement, cognition and behaviour.
HD affects men and women and the symptoms usually start to appear between the ages of 30 and 50 but can show earlier.
Juvenile HD is more severe and represents about 10% of HD cases.
