Redevelopment of Henley's Townlands Hospital takes a step forward
21 January 2009
Oxfordshire Primary Care Trust (PCT) is pleased to announce that adverts have been placed to seek expressions of interest for the redevelopment of Henley’s Townlands Hospital.
The adverts will appear in a number of specialist magazines to attract interest from developers to submit plans on the re-provision of the bed-based services at the Townlands Hospital and the buildings for the remaining services.
This is a key step forward in the project which is planned to be completed in 2012.
The next step will be to evaluate the responses from potential bidders and ensure they have the right qualifications to undertake to work. It will then move forward to ‘competitive dialogue’ - a process which leads to the submission of tenders for the work.
Alan Webb, Oxfordshire PCT’s Director of Commissioning, said: “We are very pleased that we have taken such a big step in moving plans forward to redevelop the Townlands Hospital in Henley. The PCT is very committed to this project and will continue to work with the Townlands Steering Group and the people of Henley to ensure its success.”
Key Dates for the project are as follows:
- January 2009: Advert placed in specialist press to seek expressions of interest in working on the re-development.
- February – December 2009: Expressions of interest are evaluated and discussions with bidders take place. Final tenders should be submitted by bidders
- January – February 2010: Evaluation of tenders takes place and a paper is presented to the PCT with a proposal to award the contract
- Summer 2010: Building work should start on site
- 2012: Work completed
Ends
