Community Health Oxfordshire delivers local NHS services to your community. We are responsible for providing a wide range of health services including health care at home, in clinics, prisons and in community hospitals. We also work closely with other services such as GP's, schools and social services to make sure our patients get the best 'joined up' care
Our 2,600 staff include nurses, doctors, therapists and dentists delivering a wide range of services such as physiotherapy, school nursing, diabetes support, first aid and urgent care, nutrition and dietetics, sexual health and contraception, podiatry, palliative care and speech and language therapy for adults and children.
We help people care for themselves as well as providing information, treatment, support and advice.
No one feels good about having to stay in hospital. But you would probably feel a lot more relaxed about it if you did not have to share sleeping and washing facilities with members of the opposite sex.
Thankfully, here in Oxfordshire Community hospitals, you will rarely have to.
In line with the NHS Constitution, we are aiming to give all our patients, the respect and privacy they deserve. With many of our patients now benefitting from same-sex accommodation (same-sex ward, bays or rooms and washing facilities) we are well on our way to achieving our target.
This short video highlights two of our Community hospitals in Oxfordshire, where patients and staff shared their experiences regarding 'privacy, dignity and respect'.
