Patient Feedback

A national survey is carried out each year by the Healthcare Commission and is the biggest single test of patients' opinions of care in the country.

Patients in Oxfordshire have given positive feedback on primary care services - including care given by doctors and dentists. They are generally positive about their experiences with a high rate of positive responses to many questions.

Registering with NHS Dentists Is An Area Of Concern

A key area of concern is that there are still a number of patients who are not registered with a NHS dentist and wish to do so.

Please ring NHS Direct on 0845 4647 if you would like to find a dentist providing NHS treatment.

The Healthcare Commission

The Healthcare Commission is the independent inspection body for the NHS and the independent private and voluntary healthcare sectors. The organisation has a range of functions and takes over some responsibilities from other commissions including all of the functions of the former Commission for Health Improvement (CHI).

Each year the Healthcare Commission publishes a rating for NHS trusts on:

  • Quality of services
  • Use of resources

This new annual 'health check' provides a broader and deeper assessment than the previous star ratings system.
