How NHS Oxfordshire Works
NHS Oxfordshire is a Primary Care Trust (PCT). PCTs are complex organisations, designed in such a way as to ensure that the views of the public, staff and healthcare professionals (including those working in GP practices and partners organisations) are heard.

The Clinical Executive is a small strategic body which advises NHS Oxfordshire in areas of commissioning and managing and developing healthcare services. It is made up of up to six primary care clinicians, of whom at least one must be a nurse or allied health professional. The Chair of the Clinical Executive is a member of the NHS Oxfordshire Board.

PCT Executive Directors are led by the Chief Executive and are responsible for implementing change, managing staff, money and other resources, and for delivering results in line with the key priorities of the Board.
